Connected Culture

National summit a success

23 March 2012

Because we’re worth it! which connectedculture organised in partnership with mailout.co, was a huge success yesterday.

Over 150 people took part in the national summit exploring and celebrating the value of participatory arts.  To kick of the day delegates enjoyed an invigorating physical and vocal warm up by Streetwise Opera, followed by provocations by Matthew Taylor of the RSA, and members of the National Theatre Wales to start up the discussions.

Participants took part in workshops, watched performances and films, and contributed to discussions throughout the day on topics such as peer review, the role of the artist and arts and health.  They interacted and added to Spare Tyre’s art station and were invited to explore what ‘participatory arts’ means to them with Camila Fiori’s Brainstorm In A Tea-Cup installation.

You can read more about the day on mailout.co’s website.

connectedculture would like to extend our thanks to all who contributed to the event and all who attended.
