About Connected Culture
Connected Culture is an independent voice for adult participatory arts. A network for anyone involved in participatory arts who wants to better connect to peers and better advocate for this area of artistic practice. We aim to create a spirit of generosity, supporting and sharing.
We want to:
– Encourage an exchange of ideas and practice
– Influence a wide spectrum of policy making
– Raise the profile and status of adult participatory arts
Our members bring different perspectives: artists and organisations covering a spectrum of art forms, participants from a range of communities, trusts and foundations, partner organisations, academics and people at the beginning of their careers. Although we are London-based, we aim to reach further afield, connecting with other regional networks and working closely with national participatory arts magazine mailout.
With this website we aim to strengthen Connected Culture by enabling members to connect, have discussions, explore the work of others, share their own videos and photos, share events and opportunities and find new ways to get involved.
Connected Culture is a Spare Tyre initiative, funded by Arts Council England, London.
